I just received an email from my day telling about what happened to him today. I was totally blown away when I read about it. Here's what happened:

My dad is spending six weeks in Pakistan working for an organization called BLLF (Bonded Labour Liberation Front of Pakistan). Earlier today he was traveling in a rickshaw in Lahore and he left his laptop on the seat. The rickshaw took off and disappeared in the crowd and he had not chance to get it back. There are apparently thousands of rickshaws all looking pretty much the same. I can imagine what he felt like when realizing that all the work, documents, images etc. of his work were lost in a huge city like Lahore. Anyway, later that evening a rickshaw stopped outside his hotel, a rickshaw driver went up to the reception and handed over a laptop to the staff. The computer was untouched and unharmed.

So, what do we have here exactly. Well, apart from an expensive laptop lost in a huge city where most people are on the verge of sinister poverty and a man who could have earned a couple of years salary by selling it, we also have a great deal of humanity and the best of morals. This honestly makes me wanting to be a better man and condemn commercialization and capitalism. Apparently there is good in this world, but it doesn't come from those having everything - it comes from those having nothing. Take a couple of minutes and think about. Please.
